Small Team Alternatives is a curated directory for small teams evaluating open-source and self-hosted software. We consult project or vendor sources, such as official documentation and repositories, and manually review those sources when preparing or updating product facts. Source links let readers check details directly; they do not mean every claim has been independently tested, and we do not install and test every deployment.

Automated repository checks and editorial review

Automated checks can flag changes in repository license and activity metadata for owner review. The initial catalog was screened against GitHub metadata to exclude missing or archived repositories. Neither repository checks nor metadata establish product functionality, security, quality, pricing, or suitability. Product facts such as pricing, hosting, and capabilities require review of project or vendor sources; they are not established by automated repository checks. Editorial descriptions, comparisons, and recommendations are human editorial judgments, not vendor claims or automated rankings.

“Not verified” means a field has not been confirmed sufficiently to present as fact. A last-checked date records a source review; it does not mean the software was installed, tested, or continuously monitored. At launch, we do not run ads or sponsored placements, and the catalog contains no affiliate links. If that changes, paid relationships will be clearly disclosed and payment will not determine editorial selection or recommendations.
